About

ALL ABOUT FULLY LIT.

Fully Lit Magazine was founded in July 2020 with a clear vision: to provide a space for compelling, original writing, free from literary gatekeeping. Our first issue was met with an enthusiastic and wide-reaching response. Proof that there’s a real hunger for platforms that value quality over pedigree, and voice over polish. Although the publication paused shortly after its launch, its impact endured. We’re now relaunching with renewed focus and a deepened commitment to showcasing the most vital short fiction, poetry, and essays being written today.

Fully Lit is published four times a year and accepts submissions year-round. We welcome work from writers of all backgrounds and levels of experience, and we are especially committed to platforming working-class voices and those who have historically been excluded from mainstream literary spaces.

We believe that strong writing speaks for itself. We read every submission with care and without bias. We’re not interested in where you studied, who you know, or how many publications you’ve had. We are interested in what you have to say, and how you choose to say it.

If your work challenges, surprises, moves, or lingers, this is the place for it.

To find out how to submit, please see our guidelines below.

HOW DO I SUBMIT?

We accept the following, per submission:

  • One short story (up to 2000 words)
  • One essay (up to 1000 words)
  • Up to three pieces of flash fiction (up to 250 words each)
  • Up to four poems (up to 30 lines each)

Please submit your work to us via email, either in MS Word format or in the body of the email. If your work is not accepted, please wait one month before resubmitting. Spelling and grammar checks are your responsibility. We accept simultaneous submissions. At present we are unable to pay for content, which is why we make no charge for submissions. You will be the first to know if this changes. Please include your pen name and contact details. We’d love to read a short bio. Names of pets and favourite bands are optional…
